Clear blue ocean is stretched out in front of me. The way the sun shines down on the dancing waves cheats a diamond of it’s reflection. A serene breeze tosses the playful waves. and then there’s laughter…a child skipping along the beach…she reaches down to pick up a shell.
“Momma look at this one!” Complete innocence and love fills the little girl’s eyes. The child’s mother comes to her side.
“Yes my child I see it.”
Isn’t it beautiful momma?”
“Oh yes, it’s precious! Almost as precious as your are.” The child’s glowing smile and the mother’s warm face bring tears to my eyes…tears of envy. I unwillingly pulled myself back into reality.
All I ever wanted was to be loved by the only mother I’d ever known. She will never love me. Because of that, I will never love her. I will never hold her; she will never dry my tears. Now I will never see her again, and I will never want to. All I need to think about now is Jymn–I will not fail him like mother failed me…
I stuck my leg out in front of me to get a better look at the extra weight. Blonde hair and big green eyes stared up at me.
“Conroe when can we go back?” His whining didn’t even annoy me, and before I answered, I reach down and affectionatly wiped a streak of dirt off his face.
“I don’t know Jymn, maybe if you get off my leg I’ll be able to get done faster.” I laughed at the look of dissatisfaction on the little boys face.
“Fine,” he sniffed as he let go of my leg and went to join the other kids.
I didn’t blame Jymn, I hated the job too, but it was probably the most important thing for the clan right now. We needed food, and Jymn and I were in charge of finding anything in edible–anything that could keep us alive. Life was much easier when our clan was in the city. The “easy” life had ended though when our clan had been caught vandalizing a government building. We were forced out of the city immediatly. We had tried to go back once, but a couple of spies recognized us and had almost the whole city against us. Thanks to Leon, our clan leader, we were able to survive, and make a new home. This wasn’t the first time he had saved me. About a year ago I had a really bad drug addiction. It got extemely out of hand, and I turned suicidal. If he hadn’t been there I never would have made it through. He was there every night to remind me that I had a purpose in life, and right then it was to take care of Jymn. He was my comfort and my support. I think that if I had to spend the rest of my life with someone I would want it to be him.
“Conroe! Look at us!” Startled by the three kids hanging from one of the many trees in front of me, I tripped on a obscure root.
“Get down from there you guys!” I tried to stand and felt a surging pain come through my ankle.
“Crap!”
“Are you okay, Conroe?!” The kids scrambled down the tree and made their way toward me. Thinking they might suffocate me if they get any closer, I assured them I was fine. “Just go get someone from the camp!”
“Ok, but…”
“Just go!” I yelled. They all took off running. Ignoring the pain, and using the tree as support, I pushed myself into standing postion. The second my foot touched the ground, I wobbled insecurely. “Careful..” I warned myself as I inched my foot forward. One step. Two steps.
“Okay, not bad.” Four…five…six..SHIT!” I lost my balanace and fell…this time I landed right on my ankle. I felt the sharp, searing pain fly through my leg. I cried out in agony,
“Well fuck!” Sarcasm errupted in my head, “Great…I can’t move. That’s exactly what I need right now!” Losing strength and patience, I let my head fall back against the rigid tree. I looked up into the luscious green canopy above my head. The giant walls stretched forever upward pointing towards the heavens. It was a prison; so innocently menacing. So much like the city. Too much like the city…
“Conroe!”
Her screaming is too loud. All I can think is just stay here, just stay hidden, just stay safe.
“CONROE! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! GET YOUR SORRY ASS OUT HERE!”
So much noise, so much conflict. Why?! I close my eyes and try to imagine the hollow chest I’m in is one of those amazing churches. The rare ones with the stained-glass windows…in the background: a soft, peaceful singing filling the air…
The top of my sanctuary is ripped off its hinges, bringing me face-to-face with the wretch I’m forced to call Mother. Her hand grabs my thin arm. She shakes me and puts her mouth straight to my ear as she yells, “What the hell are you doing in there, girl?! Get out of there and come meet our guests!”
I don’t move. How can I, when she’s right in my face? I look down at
the place where her iron grip has me locked to her. She follows my gaze and releases; a purple-bruised handprint takes its place.
“DID YOU HEAR ME?! I SAID GET THE HELL OUT!”
Of course I heard her–the whole city heard her–but I keep silent as I crawl out of my wooden sactuary. Someday, somehow, i’ll get away…and I’ll never come back.”
The basement we live in is very dim. There’s no electricity and only one window…which is drenched in bars and chains. It’s a prison. Only grey cement walls; the only furnishing is a cruedly-made wooden bench. The one my father made…right before he was taken away. On this bench sit two men. Mother smiles as she greets them…
Sorry about that, probably should have mentioned that it is based in a futuristic setting. Kind of “end of the world” type thing, but not really haha

Try a Jackeranda tree, they get that nice purple color to them and they don’t make to much of a mess like the others, stay away from ash trees they get brittle and will break and do damage during the Santa Ana’s. Have fun

I googled the item and found ONE on ebay and the listing has ended but from what the picture shows it looks like it’d be just like my sun shade for my car windshield. This is complicated but easy once you get the hang of it. Take and hold it on the sides anywhere, twist your hands in opposite directions untill it turns into itself at which time there should be a latch and hook rig somewhere if not a rubber band type thing to hold it together. Either way it’s going to fold into itself and become a circle. I hope this helps if not visit WalMart Car department check out the sun shades, I have the large dolphins double shades, they fold this way and come with instructions just pop open the package to check size 
and read the instructions Good luck

She couldn’t wait to spend the ENTIRE summer in her beach house in Malibu. Not to mention, she would be spending it with her three best friends.
Annika’s Turquoise Beach nails by OPI clacked against her keypad as she texted one of her three bffs Sienna.

Annika- Oh I wasn’t. Just checking up. Parents’ r getting anxious 2 leave.

As Annika fired off another “where are you?” text to Evelyn and Danielle she saw the familiar Mercedes pull into her circular driveway. “Hey girl!” Sienna hopped out of the car and scrambled to get her bags out of the car. “You know there are clothes in Malibu.” Annika said smirking at Sienna’s several large suitcases and her multiple carry-on bags. “Oh, I know, I know. But I just ordered the whole Dolce and Gabbana Blue collection and I had to bring it.” Sienna replied with an innocent “I was just thinking you would want to see it” look. Annika giggled at her friend and looked up as another car crunched her driveway’s gravel under its tires. “Danielle!” Sienna rushed over to the car’s rolled down window. Annika admired her friends as they reunited. Danielle’s dark auburn hair glistened like one of the models on a Pantene commercial. “Hey Annika!” She ran to greet her friend, her Chloe wedges crunched as she stumbled to keep her balance. “We have so much to catch up on.” Annika said as she pulled away from Danielle’s hug. “Omg, I know.” Sienna quickly cut into the conversation. Her green eyes sparkled in the afternoon sun. For a minute Annika envied her and wished she could trade her boring brown eyes for either Danielle’s icy blue eyes or Sienna’s jade green eyes. But she quickly shook the thought from her deep conditioned hair and convinced herself that her chocolate brown eyes were just as intense as her girl’s.
“Where is Evelyn? Gosh.” Annika tapped her leather Coach Watch and looked out into the road. Green foliage created a canopy over her small secluded street. Birds chirped and the sun beat down on Annika’s shoulders warming her insides. It was the same feeling she got when she received a bracelet from Tiffany’s for no apparent reason. The world seemed at peace in little Stonington, Connecticut.
Annika whipped out her iPhone 3GS and dialed Ev’s number. As she held the phone to her diamond studded ear she heard a familiar voice on the other end. A sigh of relief washed over her like the surf in Malibu. She was dying to escape the treacherous hustle and bustle of Stonington as tourists crowded the Borough and bought cheap memorabilia from the many stores that crowded the narrow streets. If there was anything worse than Wal-Mart brand jeans it was KBST. (Knick-knack buying summer tourists.) Especially since they were invading Annika’s home. “Hey!” Ev’s voice blared from the small speaker. “Ev, where are you? We’re all waiting for you! I’ve got the girls with-“
“This is Ev. I can’t get the phone right now so leave a message and if I have the chance I’ll call you back….maybe. If it’s an emergency you can always leave me a message at my home number. Don’t have my home? Then, there’s probably a reason. Peace.”
“Ugh! Voicemail!” Annika grumbled over to her Rolls Royce where the girls were waiting. “So where is she?” Sienna asked smoothing out her white v-neck jersey tee from Splendid. “Oh, she’s on her way.” Annika didn’t want the girls to get stressed out as well. If they were as stressed as her they would be prone to premature wrinkles. Then, where would they be?

In VA beach? Unless you can push it way down in the sand it will not stand up because those big umbrellas are so top heavy that any little gust of wind will blow them down. This is why you see them tilted when walking on the beach where thy are used with the sun behind them and the people lying in the patch of shade they provide.
