Make sure he’s covered most of the time. Even with sunscreen a baby can be very susceptible to sunlight. If you use a carrier keep it covered, a tent is a good idea too.

Beach Sun Tent question by Miss Yahoo: Can I use this tent at the beach?
We wanna bring something to stay out of the sun all day at the beach, would something like this work?
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8223663#Features+%26+Specifications
Beach Sun Tent best answer:
Answer by Delta Hope
Hi,
Sure this would work. You won’t get as much of a cooling breeze, but you will get shade.
If it is going to be really hot at the beach you are going to, you might want to consider an umbrella or shade tent.
Remember to bring empty milk containers to fill with sand or water once you get to the beach. The stakes for the tent can pull out of the sand easily if there is any wind, so just tie the containers to the corners of your tent and it won’t lift/fly away on you.
Have fun at the beach!

Sun Tents question by corrie: I have a vintage or antique sleeping bag that is made by Sun Tent Luebbert Co. is this a military item?
I bought if from a garage sale and was told it was WWI. It looks very old and is a beige kind of color.
There is a tag on the inside that says “Sun Brand Sleeping Bag Sun Tent Luebbert co San Francisco-Los Angeles” It also has snap buttons along the side that say “Sun Tent-Luebbert SF&LA Cal”
Sun Tents best answer:
Answer by redleg
They really didn;t make what we would call a sleeping bag in WW1 era. It is most likely an M-1942 Mountain Bag which is quite common and based on the color, used in WW2.

Sun Shelter Tent question by Woon: Question on Beach Tent/Shelter?
Hi, I am thinking of getting a beach tent for a day on the beach. Let me tell you what I need and then proceed with the question.
I want something that has a high sun protection rating and portable. They should be easy to setup and and can fit two adults. Preferably can shade the entire body when the adults lie down.
It is only for my wife and I to be sheltered for a couple of hours, we are not going to spend the night at the beach or anything.
I looked online and many of the models promises very easy setups. However, they looked light and flimsy.
Does beach tents get blown away easily? must I use tent pegs to anchor it down? If yes, how could that be easy to setup?
They are some models that have ‘pockets’ at the side and I am suppose to scoop sand and the weigh it down. Does this actually work? I know sand can heavy but the beach tent’s shape acts like a ‘catchment’ for strong wind…
can someone share. I know this sound like a stupid question. But I grow up in a place without nice beaches so this is new to me.
Sun Shelter Tent best answer:
Answer by BeachBum818
You may want look up “Beach Cabana” on google. Here: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&safe=off&q=beach%20cabana&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wf
They are usually light since they expect people to be carrying beach chairs, towels, and coolers. Sitting in the shade will be 100% sun protection, but you still have to watch out for the rays reflecting off the sand. The only way to avoid that is to zip a tent shut and bake inside of it. If it provides shade, you`ll be good.
Yes it`ll blow away if its not weighed down one way or another. Its essentially a kite if you think about it or even a parachute. If you`re laying in it obviously it wont blow away but if you throw a small cooler in the back there shouldnt be any problems. the ones with the “sand pockets” are better than just the regular pegs. The pegs wont hold in the sand.

Baby Sun Tents question by Megan R: How long is too long in the sun for six month old?
We are taking our six month old to the beach next week and I have baby sunblock, a hat and a baby tent with SPF 35 to set up, but how long should we stay at the beach I don’t want to expose him to the sun too long. Any other suggestions of things I may need to bring to make the trip more enjoyable for everyone.
Baby Sun Tents best answer:
Answer by missduoglide
If he is protected from the sun, then I think the issue is the heat. If it’s super hot, I wouldn’t stay too long. No one likes to be all hot and sticky. If it’s cooler, he might love being outside.
My son LOVES to be outside.
Make sure you have plenty of fluids for him and small snacks.
