The Photo Basics 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector Kit is versatile in the field and in the studio, providing shadow-lightening detail in your subject, using available, or studio lighting. It contains a translucent white disc, which is perfect for softening direct sunlight, or lights without diffusion. Use the removable, reversible zippered slipcover to reflect light into shadow areas of your subject. The cover consists of the following colors: silver, gold, white and black. This 42″ reflector is perfect for 3/4 length portraits, and medium still-life setups. It folds down to 1/3 its open size, and comes with a carry case. Sun Umbrellas question by Toasting Marshmellow: white or black umbrella for the sun?
If you are going to tell me to wear a hat, i’d much rather not. Wearing a hat doesn’t provide as much shade as an umbrella. I was wondering which color umbrella would better for the sun? I do understand that the white one will reflect heat but it doesn’t seem to provide as much shade. the sun still seems to go through it a little, the black one would probably absorb in heat but it provides more shade. So my question is which one would be better to be used as a sun umbrella and why?

Black umbrella would be better because of the shade that you get which is more than a white one but the again you would feel more heat from the black then white
